I am a 2nd year CS PhD (HCI) student/NSF CSGrad4USFellow at the Paul G. Allen School for Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington, working with Dr. Jennifer Mankoff on the impacts of Generative AI (GAI) on accessibility/people with disabilities.
My research centers on the use of GAI as a tool for creating access where there are current gaps -- such as information simplification, social and emotional support, and design. I also study the potential risks and harms of GAI use to people with disabilities such as built-in biases.
Previusly, I did my MS and BS in CS at the University of Southern California where I worked on projects relating to human-robot interaction and neurodivergent learners. Following that, I spent 7 years in the software industry working in a range of roles such as software engineering, automation/QA, product management, and research engineering. I additionally continue collaborating with Dr. Elizabeth Murnane (Dartmouth) Dr. James Landay (Stanford), Dr. Paula Moya (Stanford) on the WhoIsZuki and Perfecto projects which study culturally-relevant, narrative-based methods for promoting health behavior change.
